Why Digital Marketing Won’t Work Without Strategy
October 14, 2025Are you really saving money by paying your agency less—or is it costing you more than you think?
The Story
Yesterday, I came across an institute that spent ₹8–10 lakhs over 4 months on marketing and got 30 admissions for their ₹9 lakh program. Out of these, 8 students backed out, leaving them with just 22 confirmed admissions.
When I asked who managed the campaign, the founder admitted— a junior resource was running everything.
Over 4-5 months , they had already spent ₹32–35 lakhs with very little to show. Why? Because they paid their agency just ₹35,000 a month. At that fee, no agency will assign senior strategists or put the right systems in place. Cost of admission ₹133,000
The Contrast
I shared our numbers. For a French institute, we spent ₹6–10 lakhs in 6 months and got 200+ admissions—for courses priced ₹18–25 lakhs each. Cost per admission ~₹ 28,000
The founder was shocked.
The difference?
- The right strategy.
- The right people.
- The right investment in execution
The Lesson
Here’s the truth:
- Agencies don’t fund campaigns from their pocket.
- If you squeeze their fees, they’ll assign juniors.
- Cheap is always expensive.
- You may pay Zuckerberg (Meta) crores in ad spend—but unless you’re willing to pay the right agency the right fee, you’re just burning money
- Next time you think of reducing your agency’s fee, ask yourself
"Am I saving money—or am I losing admissions?"
How many of you agree—cheap is always expensive?
